Watch Your Step Part 2

So remember a couple weeks ago I posted a blog titled "Watch Your Step"? This blog was about how I was on my morning walk, looked down and noticed a baby snake on the sidewalk. It was dead so and I was very thankful for that because the nasty thing could have bit me!

Well, this afternoon Eric and I went out for our afternoon walk with the Diddles (we use this word for many things). While walking I notice something on the side of the street, a towel.. maybe a rope. I started walking closer and soon notice I was starting a a BIG nasty Snake!

Eric starting walking closer to see what I was freaking out over. Of course here come the Diddle's trying to sniff and see if the snake is eatable. Oh, by the way it was dead. Looked like someone ran over it. Good for them!

As we were examining the monster a couple walked up and told us how they found a snake on their house! Yes, on the house!

So, tomorrow I am heading up to Lowe's to purchase some snake away and put it along my fence line.

Jon and Kate..

I just love the show Jon and Kate Plus 8! Last night was the season premier so, I layed up on the couch (I was there all day) and watched the kids celebrate their 5th birthday!

I can not believe they are 5 years old now! I know I am talking like I'm their Aunt or Mom's BFF but, over the years I have grown very fawn of these cute little kids!

It was very, very obvious that Jon and Kate were going thought some things! Jon did not even help Kate plan the party. He decided that he needed some time away..??? What?? He did show up for the party but, seemed to take a backseat in the actives. At one point Leah (I think) came up to her Dad and was loving on him. Jon asked if she had missed him and of course she said, yes. He explained to her that he had been away on work... yeah right! Work.. working on his adultery filled actives!

I am sure that you also noticed that Jon and Kate never interviewed at the same time. Finally at the very end they sat in the same chair but, set quite a distant away from each other. When asked what the future held for them they both said that they were in it for the kids but, did not know what was to come.

I hate that this has happen to this family! I know Kate can be loud and push around demands but, heck if I had 8 kids running around I am sure I would be a little up tight too!

I really hope that they can put the past behind them and move on.

I am sure you have an option on this so, how do you feel about The New.. not so happy Jon and Kate?

Lake Louise Vacation Please!

I need a vacation! The other day on facebook I posted that I would like to go somewhere without a cell phone, laptop or even a TV. My FIL commented on this status and told be about this grand place called Lake Louise, Canada.

This place is absolutely gorgeous! I WILL be visiting this place! I would really like it to be in the next couple weeks but, doubt that will happen.

While doing some research on the place I came to the conclusion that we have have to stay in one of the Lakeview rooms with a balcony (I have not told Eric the price of this one yet)!

Yes, they do have Internet, phones and TVs but, just think how relaxing it would be do hike in the mountains, canoe in the beautiful lake, take a trip up the mountain to find a nice pub!

Man, if I win the lottery I would be there tomorrow!

Finally a Upgrade

After 4 years of living in a home with an oven from the 60's I finally have a new one! On yesterday our new Kenmore Elite Stainless Steel Convection Oven was delivered!!
I was so excited! I felt like a child at Hamel's (reflection back in time)!

Here is a picture of our old stove. Bless it's heart!

And here is a picture of our new beauty!

I had to try out the new convection oven so I baked a very yummy cake! Kristen Blair's chocolate chip pound cake. It was an absolute hit at the dinner party we attended!

I guess with a new stove I should get to baking more.

Watching Movies At Home

So, I'm really not much for going to the movies. The man I married on the other hand lovves going! I really hate the idea of putting on make-up to sit in the dark. Last time we went I decided to cut through the hassle of getting dressed, fixing my hair and putting my face on so, I just put on a ball cap and went. Of course we run into someone we know while standing in line for my Mr. Pibb. That's another thing.. my diet just goes out the window when you are at the local Tinseltown. I can say no to a large popcorn with extra butter (eric can not) but, a Mr. Pibb!! I am sure I slurp down about 1,000 calories while I am watching my movie.

Eric and I have been on a kick of watching movies at home. I like this much better! I can sit in my favorite chair, with my favorite blanket, in my Pjs, lap top in my lap and our dogs at my feet! This is so much more relaxing!

We have seen some really great movies here lately and some that I would never recommend!

Here is what I think about some of the ones we have watched lately.

Slumdog Millionaire- Wonderful! Of course you properly already figured this out.

Changeling- If you have not watched it then keep it that way! Sorry Angie but, come on!

7 pounds- Great Movie!!! Makes you appreciate life!

Hotel For Dogs- I picked this up without telling Eric about it. It was cute! Better than I thought it would be. I actually caught Mardi looking at the screen a couple times.

Bride Wars- Okay.. The previews pretty much show it all.

Journey to the middle of the Earth- Cute for a teenager.

The Wrestler- Great movie!

Vicky Cristina Barcelona- Different but, good

What's your favoirte rental you watched lately?

A Miracle Of A Day!

After 1 month (plus) of waiting we have finally received out Wedding Pics!!! We absolutely love them! Thank gosh we are able to keep all of them. Maybe you have seen them, maybe you have not but, I know I just can't enough of them! Every time I watch the slide show I get all teary eyed! The day turned out Amazing!

To those of you who do not know it rained and poured for 2 days prior to the wedding! On the actual morning we were to get married the weather was forecasted for rain and hail! Around 9:00 I went down to the beach to meet the rental company who was to put with the tent, table and chairs. At this point there was absolutely no way this could be done. The rain was coming in side ways and there was a "pond" where my wedding was to take place. The helpers were to come back around lunch time to check out the scene and see how to proceed. During this time I went up to my room and watched the weather channel. It was not very promising!
Around 11:30 I happen to look outside and it was the most beautiful thing I have ever seen! THE SUN WAS SHINNING!!! About this time my phone ran and it was my best friend Carie screaming "the sun it out, omg the sun is out"!!!! Less than 2 minutes later Carie was at my room. We were jumping around in joy!
With the sun out it was time to get things set up and ready for a wedding. I was not the normal bride who lets everyone do things for her. I took myself down to the beach and helped get it ready for a wedding! There were jelly fish all along the shore! With the help of many friends and family we were able to get the beach cleaned and prepped for a wedding!

A couple hours later we were getting ready and taking a million pictures! Oh, the blessings of prayer!

Watch Your Step!

Every morning I try to start my day with a walk. This time is my "me time". It allows me to clear my head and get ready for the day. It also helps reduce the size of these womanly hips!

This morning as I was walking and talking to myself I happened to look down at the pavement. Thank goodness I did because, this is what I saw!

A baby snake! Those of you who are from the dirty south know that baby snakes are more poisioness than big, grown snakes! (think I would rather encounter a little one rather than BIG) ewww!

This is not the first time this has happened to me. A couple years ago I was walking Mardi. I notice he had stopped and started sniffing something. I looked in front of him and there was a very large snake (dead). I would estimate the snake was about 4 feet long! I freaked out and ran home quickly!

When comparing my mental notes from both of these occasions, I come to realize that both times these sightings were close to the bayou along River Road! This can only mean one thing..that the Duck Pond is Snake Infested!! I guess Eric and I need to rethink moving a couple streets up!

I shall walk with my head to the ground from now on!
