Things I Am Looking Forward to..

I wish the word Mexico or beach was in the paragraph below but, that's not the case.

This weekend is 4th of July. Eric is on call and there really does not seem like to much is going on so, I plan on baking Banana nut bread! This will be a first.. hope it turns out ok!

McCarthy will be turning 1 year old on July 8th!!! We will be celebrating her Birthday on this day! As her Aunt Mel (really just a cousin) well, really her God Mother I got her a cute little 1 year old Bday dress! I can't wait to take pics of her in it.

Gabe (my lil big brother) will be turning 25 on July 11!!! I am so proud of him! He has accomplished so much this year!! Gosh, just the sweetest boy in the world!

Adam.. excuse me.. John (blog name) will be having his bday party dinner at Tacomania on July 10th. I am defiantly looking forward to some chicken enchiladas and maybe hanging out with our favorite karaoke man later on in the night.

The next weekend we will be making our way to Homa, La for Hugh and Lucia's wedding! Yes, I know it's waaaaay far south but, gosh how fun is that wedding going to be!
After Bevin's wedding I have realized there is just something about a south Louisiana wedding!! Sweat, mesquites, booze, dancing and great friends! Lots of fun!

(this pic is just to show how HOT it is down south! This was taken our first night there on B's back porch)

I will be hosting our first Bunco in the next couple weeks! I am so excited about 12 girls getting together on a Thursday to eat, drink and count dice. I better win the bunco money! :)

Memphis Belle our Cavalier King Charles Spaniel will be turning 2 on July 28! Oh, and I just realized Eric and I will be married for 4 mos. on this day! Awww!

The first week of August Eric, I and some friends will be making our way to The JOURNEY concert!!!! You have no idea how excited I am.. How excited Eric is! Gosh, this day can not come fast enough! We have great tickets on the floor in the middle. If you are there, look for a bunch of crazy people signing at the top of their lungs ... that will be us!

Later on in the month we have a Bunch of Bday's including mine on August 25th. Woot woot, another day older, another day wiser!

I wish there was a trip to the beach in the break down of the next couple months but, so far there is not. Work takes up a lot of Eric and I's day.
I told him this weekend I was going to purchase a blow up pool and put it in the back yard.
Do not think I am not about to "google" and see who has them on sale for 15.00. :)
White trash.. I know

2 Food Items You Have to Try!

Things that are amazing and you should try..

I thought I have tried every 100 calorie item out, there then I found these.

Little Debbie's 100 calorie lemon cakes!!!!!!!!! OMG they are amazing.. out of this world! I also am a fan of the 100 calorie Little Debbie's Chocolate Cakes. I like to keep these in the freezer.

Try them and thank me later.

Another item that I am in love with is Naturally More Peanut Butter. This stuff is so good for you! It contains 10 grams of protein, 4 grams of fiber and flax seeds. I have been on a celery and peanut butter kick here lately and just can not get enough of this stuff!

Ok, now that I have written about food I think I will go and grab a little snack.

A Great Weekend!

Last weekend was a lot of fun! On Friday Eric, Kate and I went and meet my Mom and Tim at Herby K's for dinner. The food of course was delicious and the goblets of cold beverages were just as good!
After dinner we went and meet John (blog name) at The Tiki Tavern. It was a great night! The place was not that busy so, we were able to actually get a good seat right up front. Always nice to set right next to the speakers???

On Saturday morning Eric and I worked on the rent house. We are getting it all fancy so we can put it up for sell. So, if you are looking for a house in Broadmoor.. get with me!

Later on in the day we headed over to Gabe's NEW HOUSE! We had a Graduation/House warming Party for him. I am so proud of him!!!

The party was a lot of fun! Gabe's house is on Cross Lake so there was a good bit of fishing involved, mostly by the children. I think the adults were to busy eating, drinking and chatting.
Logan and Leyton are posing by the canal that runs along side of the house. The Lake is at the back of his property.

Christan caught a bass in the canal!! He was so excited!

It was great to see all of the family and Gabe's friends. His house is a work in progress but, with all the gift cards he received I think he is well on his way to being HGTV dream home!

The weekend was absolutely wonderful! Now, this week is going to be very busy! Bevin is getting married on Friday!

For The Love Of Hydrangeas!

I just love Hydrangeas! They are absolutely my favorite flower! In the morning, on my walk I pass many houses that have beautiful landscaping. There is this one particular house that has Hydrangea bushes lining the front of the home and then some sporadically throughout the yard. They just happen to be my favorite, BLUE! Here is a picture of the flowers that I speak of.

While walking by I always take a picture with my phone. I hope the owners were not looking out the window! I never got that close to the house so, there is no need to get a restraining order against me for stalking their flowers.

When I moved into my house 4 years ago the owner had already planted a pink hydrangea bush in the back yard. It has been very exciting to see it bloom over the years.

Last year I went and purchased a "Blue" hydrangea and planted in an area that does not get a lot of sun. When the plant bloomed, it was pink! Not that I do not love pink flowers but, blue is my favorite!

This year when purchasing a new Blue hydrangea I made sure it was already blooming so I knew what I was getting.

I love these flowers so much that I ran the idea of having an Hydrangea Farm past Eric. I could sell the flowers to local nursery's. He thinks I should keep my day job. Oh, to make a dollar off something so beautiful!

I can only dream of walking through fields of Hydrangea..

Mini Vacay

Last weekend Eric, I and the Diddle's decided to take a mini vacation. We always talk about getting away to some place where there are no phones, no TVs and no computers. No, we did not go to Lake Louise.. that would be a big vacation! We went to Toledo Bend! It was the perfect weekend! We stayed at a place called Tranquility Bay. We had the cutest little cabin. It had everything we needed.

There was a huge pier that you could fish off of and a fairly large stocked pond where you could catch and release. This is where we fished. As some of you know, I love fishing! Growing up we were always camping and fishing. For my Birthday last year my brother gave me a pink fishing pole. Thanks to Gabe and my new pole I caught this nice size catfish!

Yes, I baited my own hook and even took the hook out of the fish's mouth before sending him back into the water. I'm such an outdoors-women (not sure what they call women who are one with nature?)!
Most of our time was spent walking the dogs all over the park and sitting on our front porch telling stories. Some that I have heard before...

Our mini vacay was absolutely wonderful! I can not wait for us to go back!
