Bad Day = New Shoes

Bad Day = New Shoes

It has been forever since I have purchased a new pair of black heels.

The ones I wear now well, before yesterday were over two years old.

I needed a new pair of Black heels for a while.

So, I went and purchased some.

They are such beauties!

I am sure my feet are going to hurt like Heck but, who cares!

(I'm sure I will in a couple years)

Christmas 2009!

Christmas 2009 was wonderful!

We loved decorating our Christmas tree with all the ornaments we received from our friends.
At our engagement party everyone was asked to bring an ornament to help decorate our first tree as Martin's.
This was such a great idea!
(our tree lights did not show up in the pic but, they are colored. I love the playfulness of colored lights)

We normally travel to Tyler to spend Christmas Eve with The Martin's but, Eric was on call so we stayed home this year. We dearly missed sitting by the fire and opening presents with everyone.
On Christmas Eve we went to a candle light service. It was beautiful! We then came home and cooked dinner. After dinner we opened presents. It was lots of fun! Eric was really excited about all our kitchen goodies!

That night we opened gifts to and from each other. One of our gifts was Christmas Pj's. To make sure the dogs did not feel left out they got snuggies! They love them!

On Christmas Morning we had breakfast and finished opening presents.
For lunch my Mom, Tim, Dad and Gabe came over.
It was nice not to have to leave. Normally we are all over the place.
We really enjoyed having everyone coming to us :)

With Christmas lunch being at our house I was able to use my new dishes!
I LOVE THEM!!!
They match our everyday.

One of the gifts we received from The Martin's was an outdoor heater!
So exciting!!!
When we opened it Eric said, "Good thing Gabe is coming tomorrow".
Gabe is very handy!
Here they are putting it together.
It only took them about an hour to put the heater together. I offered to help but, was sent away.
The only thing they wanted from me was to fill their glasses.
I hope you and your family had a very Merry Christmas!!

Really?

This Christmas I decided to make things a little simpler by giving out gift cards. Normally I spend days shopping for certain items only to change my mind on the gift. I'm pretty indecisive when it comes to gift giving.

I figured gift cards would make Christmas easy and they have.

Today I went to purchase a certain family a Visa gift card. This family will be moving soon so, I did not want to get them a card that they could not use in their new big city.

I figured this could help with their new home, their travels, heck whatever they want to use it for.

I went to the check out, got rang up and they said ____ amount plus $4.95. What?? I'm confused. I just purchased one gift card. Not a gift card, diet coke and gum. You must be mistaken..

Nope, no mistake. Come to find out VISA, AMERICAN EXPRESS, MASTERCARD all the big daddy providers have decided that it would be cute to make an extra $4.95 on the gift card that you are purchasing. Why? Because they can do that.

So, note to family member receiving the VISA gift card this year. Next year your getting Walmart.

Salon Grafix Spray Powder Shampoo

I am forever Hooked on Dry Spray Shampoo!

Are you like me and have to wash your hair everyday?

I have been in search for the perfect dry shampoo for years!
I have now finally found it!

Most dry shampoos do not work on bruntees, due to the fact that they spray a white powder. Salon Grafix is for all colors of hair, even for Red heads, Kate.

You can find this amazing product at ULTA for $6.99!

I promise it will be some of the best money you have ever spent!

Talk about a time saver!

Mexico Vacation!

Eric and I just got back from a little vacation to Mexico. It was a great time! The place we stayed at was top notch! If you are ever planning on taking a trip down south check out The Royal Resorts. They are very nice. The food was the best I have ever had! The staff went out of their way everyday.
The rooms were beautiful! Each room had a balcony with table, chairs and hammock. We spent many nights staring at the moon.
The trip was fun! We are ready for our next vacation! :)

Here are some pictures from our trip.

Eric told them it was our anniversary... it was not.

I broke out in hives one night :)

The Lucky One

I just finished reading, The Lucky One by Nicholas Sparks.

It was such a wonderful book!

If you are looking for a new book to read I would highly recommend this one!

Here is an is the description from Sparks website:

The Lucky One

When U.S. Marine Logan Thibault finds a photograph of a smiling young woman half-buried in the dirt during his third tour of duty in Iraq, his first instinct is to toss it aside. Instead, he brings it back to the base for someone to claim, but when no one does, he finds himself always carrying the photo in his pocket. Soon Thibault experiences a sudden streak of luck—winning poker games and even surviving deadly combat that kills two of his closest buddies. Only his best friend, Victor, seems to have an explanation for his good fortune: the photograph—his lucky charm.
Back home in Colorado, Thibault can’t seem to get the photo—and the woman in it—out of his mind. Believing that she somehow holds the key to his destiny, he sets out on a journey across the country to find her, never expecting the strong but vulnerable woman he encounters in Hampton, North Carolina—Elizabeth, a divorced mother with a young son—to be the girl he’s been waiting his whole life to meet. Caught off guard by the attraction he feels, Thibault keeps the story of the photo, and his luck, a secret. As he and Elizabeth embark upon a passionate and all-consuming love affair, the secret he is keeping will soon threaten to tear them apart—destroying not only their love, but also their lives.
Filled with tender romance and terrific suspense, The Lucky One is Nicholas Sparks at his best—an unforgettable story about the surprising paths our lives often take and the power of fate to guide us to true and everlasting love.

Thanksgiving

I am a little late with my Thanksgiving post!

Our Thanksgiving was very special this year. Eric and I had our families over for our very first Thanksgiving as Martins.

The food was delicious and the time spent as a family was precious!

We all ate way too much! Watched the Cowboy game and took floor naps.

It was a great day celebrating each other and being Thankful for family!
