Good Book!

Whistling In The Dark is such a great book!
I finished this book in little over a day.
I never wanted to put it down! It keeps your interest all the way through!
I would highly suggest borrowing this book from me or going out and purchasing it.

This weekend I plan to read another of Lesley Kagen's Books.
I'll let you know how it is.

WHISTLING IN THE DARK

It was the summer on Vliet Street we all started locking our doors... Sally O'Malley made a promise to her daddy before he died. She swore she'd look after her sister, Troo. Keep her safe. But like her Granny always said—actions speak louder than words. Sally would have to agree with her. Because during the summer of 1959, the girls' mother is hospitalized, their stepfather has abandoned them for a six pack, and their big sister, Nell, who was left strict instructions to take care of the girls, is too busy making out with her boyfriend to notice that her charges are on the loose. And so is a murderer and molester. Highly imaginative Sally is pretty sure of two things. Who the killer is. And that she's next on his list. If nobody will believe her, she has no choice but to protect herself and Troo as best she can, relying on her own courage and the kindness of her neighbors. Funny, wise and uplifting, Whistling in the Dark is the story of two tough and endearing little girls...and of a time not so long ago, when life was not as innocent as it appeared.

Random Pic

Tonight I was going through some old pictures and I came across this one....

hahahaha!!
This picture was taken (I think) 3 years ago at The Pink party.
The reason we are not all in Pink is b/c we had just left
Carie and Travis's engagement party.
hahahaha!!
I'm still laughing!
CHECK OUT THOSE DANCE MOVES!
............................................
I'm thinking about posting random old pics once a week.
You know, since my life is so eventful and all.

Weekend Recap!

This weekend was very busy but lots of fun!
First off we celebrated Brendan's 4th Birthday.
It was a Superman Party
and...
guess who showed up?

Superman!!!

I never noticed how handsome Superman was :)

Logan and Leyton had a great time at the party!

Lesley brought her precious kids, Kaleb and Kason.

Everyone loved jumping in the jumpy!
Especially the Birthday boy and his little sister McCarthy.

Brendan was scared of Superman at times
ha!
Sweet little boy!

We all jumped with the kids.
It was lots of fun!

A couple hours later we hosted a shower for Joey and Megan.
It was an Mexican theme!

The shower turned out to be a complete success!

I think everyone had a great time
even the future Hynes!

Mardi Gras!

Mardi Gras 2010 turned out to be the best one yet!

On Friday our friends Kristen and Kyle came in from Houston.
Everyone came over that night to visit and prep for the next day...
We even made out way up to Tiki for some Friday night Karaoking!

On Saturday, friends and family made their way over to the house around 1:00.
There was a lot of eating, drinking and fun times before the parade began.
Once the parade got close, we walked a couple blocks to catch beads.
We had a great spot!
Kristen and Kate were really pumped about catching anything that came their way!
Trust me! Do not get in their way!
Mom, Tim and Mrs. Pam were there!

Carie looked very festive!
My brother Gabe had a great time at the parade!
Our friend Mark Crawford always throws me lots of pearls! I love pearls!
Mark threw Kate this doll!!
haha!!
Most of us wanted cups.
There is just something about Mardi Gras cups that makes a girl happy!!
This picture was taken right after Kristen went for a long shot and fell in the mud! ha!!
After the parade we walked over to Tiki for some more Karaoking.
This has become a tradition.
We even made time for a family picture!
:)
Fancy has never sounded better!

Mardi Gras 2010 was a hit!
Lots of beads, lots of fun and a lot of memories!
Looking forward to Mardi Gras 2011!!!

Bathroom Redo!

I love my house!

I love everything about it... except, a pink bathroom.

Colored tile is very Typical for the area that we live in.

When I purchased the house I had plans get the bathroom remodeled. I never did.

So, here we are a couple months shy of 5 years later and it's finally finished!

I LOVE IT!

As you can see the pink tile was everywhere!

The best way to remodel the bathroom was to have the tile refinished with a special paint that takes a million coats and days to dry.

This saved lots of money.

The other option was to have all the tile removed and start over with dry wall and tile.

I picked the easier of the two. It still took a while to get it finished.

When I first bought the house I went ahead and purchased a pedestal sink.
It sat in my shed for many, many years.
I was worried that I would never get to use it.
In the bathroom behind a huge vanity was a hole. Come to find out the hole was b/c the previous owner had removed a space heater. I figured there was not way to patch the hole.
I would have to try to find a sink that would cover this big space.
The company who did the remodel made me feel a lot better when they told me that they could cover this area. They were also able take out 1 of the 3 towel holders (not sure why there were 3) as well as the the tooth brush and soap holder.
That is why you see white tile along with the pink.

(yes, the wall is dirty due to a vanity being there for years... judge not)

I love the way it turn out!

The bathroom looks so much bigger...

and classy!

Nothing like a classy bathroom :)

Favorites!

On Kelly's Korner today it's show us your beauty favorites.
A lot of days I do not even fix my hair or wear make-up.
(that's the plus from working out of your home)
But, the days I do I have a couple favorites that I have fallen head over heels for.

I have already done a complete post on this amazing product.

Salon Grafix Dry Shampoo
It's one of the best inventions in history!
Not only does it allow you not to have to wash your hair everyday or twice a day like some but, it gives your hair body.
Normally, after I wash my hair I can not do anything with it, b/c it just lays flat and looks terrible.
With Dry Shampoo I can spray it on my hair and it allows my hair to stay without looking like I just used hair spray.

Buy this stuff! You will love it!
It comes in all colors.
Brown, Red, Blonde and Gray.

You can purchase it at Ulta for 6.99

Another hair item I love is Bed Head Headrush- Shine Spray.
Not only does it make your hair shiny, it makes all the frizz lay down and act right.
It smells really good as well!

I had been on the lookout for a good moisturiser that had SPF and helped with fine lines.
I did some research and found
OLAY Regenerist
tested higher than most of the more expensive items!

There are many other items that I love but, this post might get really long.
Love my Chi, Merle Norman Bronzer and Mac Enchantress lip gloss!

What are some of your favorite beauty items?

Finn

On yesterday I meet Finn.
Isn't he lovely!
He loved me and I loved him.

I would have loved to take him home but, I think Sass would have been upset.
I'm also not sure how I could have snuck out of the house with him.
I might have to come up with a plan. :)
Finn! I miss you! Hope to see you again soon!
