Bathtime when it's just me

Bathtime is a little different when daddy is out of town. This is how I do it when it's just me.

Get babies down to diaper. Lay them on bathroom rug. Have towels, wash clothes and bath water ready. I also always make sure I have bottles ready, because babies are very hungry afterwards!


Bathe baby A, then swaddle in towel.


Move on to baby B, bathe, then swaddle.


Kiss and love on babies that smell like heaven!
Take them to bedroom to change into pjs.


You have about 1 second before they get grumpy and start screaming for a bottle. This is why you make bottles prior.


Dinner served! Bath time complete! Whew!

Seems just like yesterday we mailed these out!

Weekend

This weekend was a lot of fun! On Friday we visited with friends at Carie's house. Our conversations are all so different now that we have children. I wish we would have gotten a group pic.

On Saturday, Grammy and Papa came over and we all went to eat lunch. Pawpaw even stopped by the restaurant to get some loving from the girls.


Ruby and Mable loved watching videos on the iPad.


They really like Gnomeo and Juliet. I think the colors were really bright and kept their attention.


On Sunday we went to Mom's for lunch and to celebrated Gabe's 27th birthday. After all the eating, Eric and I went to the lake with Trevor and Makayla. It was a lot of fun! It made me want to get a boat. One that we could use as a family, maybe a Party Barge. I'm more the cruising type :)

6 Months!

Mable and Ruby, you are 6 months old! Half a year! Oh my goodness!!

You two are the funniest babies! You keep Daddy and I laughing constantly. You love to hold hands with each other. Whenever we put you down on a blanket you both start reaching for each others hand. It's so cute! You both love to jump in your jumperoo and in your johnny jump up. Y'all both think you are big stuff in these! You are both still great sleepers. Go to bed at 7pm and get up at 7am. Thank you Lord! You love getting out and going places and can easily adjust to whatever the schedule is for the day, but most of the time we make sure you get your naps at home. You both are very chatty and love to talk. We keep listening for your first word, but as of now it's just a lot of babbling. Whenever you see your Mommy or Daddy your eyes light up and you get a big smile on your face. It's melts our heart! You are still on the same feeding schedule. Eating every 4 hours during the day. We just added baby food into your feeding and it's going good. I gave you both prunes on yesterday and you ate them up! You loved them!

Mable, you are 24 inches long and weigh 12 pounds 10 ounces. You are doing so much better with your eating! You are still very independent. You want to hold your bottle by yourself, but can not figure out how to do it. You are working on sitting up and get closer everyday. We joke that you just want to get up and run. You are always moving. Your eyelashes are so long and your cheeks I could just kiss them all day! Well, I do! :) Mae, we can not believe you are half a year old! We love you, baby!

Ruby, you 25 1/8 inches long and weigh 14 pounds 14 ounces. You are loving baby food, as we knew you would! You too are close to sitting up and can sit at times by putting weight on your arms. You started this new thing where you fake cough. It's so funny. You do it and then start laughing. You are very easy going and go with the flow. Your smile is as big as your face! It's so cute! Ruby, we love you sweet girl! Happy 6 months!

Swimming

We went swimming in Grammy and Papa's pool over the 4th weekend. Rue and Mae loved it!! They would spat at the water and kick their feet. Naturals I tell ya!





The swimming would wear them out! We swam twice a day, morning and afternoon when the sun was not too bright.

Princess Breakfast

Today we went to a Princess Breakfast, where we celebrated McCarthy's 3rd Birthday.


We had Mae and Rue's picture made with Cinderella. I'm sure one day they will think this picture is pretty neat.


Ruby tried on some of the jewels the princesses were passing out. :)

Dr. Appointment

So we go to the doctor and have a photo shoot in the room, while waiting on our shoots to arrive.

The girls did great getting their 6 month shoots. Mable went first and her cries made Ruby cry (we even covered her ears). This is a first. They never make each other cry. Ruby has always been the one who is very concerned with what her sister is doing. Not sure if she was scared or she was sad for sister.
No more shoots until 9 months! Whooo hoooo!
