Babies with Colds

The babies woke up with a cold a couple days ago. With the holidays coming up we decided to go ahead and take them in to the Doctor. I'm glad we did, because they both had a sore throat, and Ruby had a slight ear ache.

Ruby weighed in at 18 pounds 3 ounces and Mable 15 pounds 11 pounds.

Last Time

Yesterday evening we had to get out of the house, so our buyer could do a final walk through. We decided to eat one last time, while being Shreveport residents at Tacomaina.

This was our second time to go this week! We went on Tuesday for a Birthday Celebration.

M&R really like their rice!

I'm sure we will stop by when we are in town for some Sour Cream Sauce.

Bye Bye, Mrs. Judi

Today was our sweet Nanny, Mrs. Judi's last day with the girls. It was sad. Mrs. Judi had been with us since the girls were a month old. Another way to think of it is since Mable was 4 pounds and Ruby 5 pounds. Today Eric and I were talking, and came to realize that besides us, their parents, Mrs. Judi is the 3rd person they spent the most time with. We will miss her and I know she will miss us. I know the next baby she keeps will be in good hands!

11 Months!

Ruby and Mable, you are 11 months old!

You two are the sweetest little girls. You both are all over the place! We try to keep you in the living/dinning area, by closing doors and putting up a baby gate. As soon as I open a door, you both crawl as fast as you can to try to get through the it. You both are always smiling. You can be playing with a toy and just start laughing like its the best toy ever. You both now have said, Mama. Thank goodness! I was getting worried for a while. :) You are getting to the point where you are outgrowing your jumperoo. Not because you are too big, just because you get upset when I put you in it. They have been one of my favorite baby items. I think you would agree. You both love real food. I started putting food on your tray before feeding you baby food and you normally fill up it before me feeding you. Once we finish up the baby food we have, I do not plan on buying anymore. It's going to be all finger foods for you girls. I also started putting a organic cow milk in your bottle. I am gradually adding more and more and decreasing the about of formula. You both love it! Daddy tasted it, and said it was very good. I also have been giving sippy cups more and more, normally just with water. I doubt you will be bottle free by the time you are 12 months. I am in no rush, although not having to deal with Dr. Browns bottle pieces will add at least 20 mins to my day. This week you have been sleeping until around 7:15, vs waking up at around 6:30. I am sure you will wake up bright and early in the morning now that I wrote that. Even if you wake up around 6:15 we do not get you out of bed until 7:00. This is something we have always done. It has made it so you do not cry when you wake up. You normally just play in your crib or talk to each other. You girls have your own little language. You love each other so much. You play very well together, but do get upset if your toy is taken from you. This is something we will have to work on, since you will always have to share with each other.

Ruby, you are easy going and dramatic at the same time. You are also very serious. You make the serious face a lot. It's the same face I make when I'm thinking. I remember being in the hospital and someone commenting that we were making the same face. It was also pointed out today, while at dinner. Maybe this means we are really smart and have lots to think about. :) You love to be babied. You would rather me feed you instead of feeding yourself. You would let me hold you all day if I could. You are a lover, not a fighter... unless something is taken from you. Then you fall over and cry. It's sort of funny, because this is not like you. You have 7 teeth and are about to be in a size 4 diaper, after we finish up the 3's. I think it will be a while before you walk. You will walk if we hold your hands. I try to stand you at the play table and you sit down. You like to do everything in your own time, which is fine with us. Ruby, we are a great big sister to Mable. Daddy and I love you so much!

Mable, you are sassy, funny and a ball full of energy. You are constally laughing and cheesing. Not just smiling, cheesing!!! You have 8 teeth and like to show them off. You are still in a size 3 diaper, but can fit into a 4, so you will be moving up soon with your sister. You have a new thing where you put your hands in daddy and I's mouth. You think it's funny. When ever I hand you and your sister something I always say, thank you. You have just started repeating me. It's not by any means thank you, but it's two syllables and you say it the same way every time. You were always so hard to feed, and now you stuff food in your mouth. Whatever I put on your tray you eat. You are still smaller, by at least 3 pounds. Your eye is much better. It only turns outward every so often. Once we get in Houston we will take you to the eye Dr. there, to have it checked out again. Last time we went they said it was looking better and to keep watching it. I think you will be walking soon. Yesterday you went from one toy to the other. Mae, you are a sweet sister to Ruby. Daddy and I love you so much!

Last Day Of MDO

The girls had their last day of school on Thursday. It was sad to say goodbye to everyone. We loved Mrs. Donna and Mrs. Shelby.

Mae and Rue loved playing with all of their friends and clearing the shelfs of toys.

We hope to find another great school in The Woodlands.

It's official!

The Martin's are moving to The Woodlands!
Eric took a job working for a competitor, Baker Huges. We put the house on the market and it sold in less than a week. This summer we upgraded most of the house, so that helped.
We are excited about this new adventure! It's bittersweet, because we will miss all of our friends and family.
We found a great house, that we fell in love with. We are looking forward to our new adventure!

Here is a picture of the front of the house. There will me a lot of tree trimming going on. As well as planting and some painting of the inside.

We are really excited! Looking forward to a new year in our new home.

Sippy Cups

Months back I started giving the girls sippy cups. Not everyday, just when I thought about it. Mostly they would just chew on the nipple and never suck anything out. Even if I put juice in the cup.
I noticed a couple of our friends had these sippy cups that sort of looked like a sports bottle. I looked all over and finally found some.
As you can tell, the girls love them! They actually drink out of them! They still drink their milk out of their bottle, and will until they get better with the cup.
One step closer to being a big girl! Tear!

Our Christmas Tree

This year we did a small tree. One that I could put up high, so babies could not pull it down. Also, with us moving right after Christmas, I did not want to the hassle of taking down a big tree. Our tree is hot pink! I figured next year we can put it in the girls playroom.

Everyday I let the girls touch it. They just smile ear to ear! Ruby normally goes for the skirt that's around the bottom. I learned my lesson with letting her touch it. There was glitter for days on each of us, including sister.

Mable touches to tree, then looks at me to make sure it's ok. I wish she did this with other things, like cords, the fireplace, ect. :)

Babies, we hope you like your first Christmas Tree!

Advent Candle

On yesterday our family lit the Advent Candle, during the early service at Church. Eric read and I did the lighting. The girls did great! Mae just stared in amazement at the candles and Rue turned pages on the bible.
After the lighting we took the girls to the nursery. We normally keep them in church with us. Gosh! Why did we not do this before!? Eric and I were able to snuggle on the church bench and enjoy coffee after the service. I know where the girls are going next Sunday! :)
We felt honored that we were asked to light a candle during advent.

Baby, it's cold outside!

We broke out the fleece today! It's been cold and rainy all day. I bought these outfits this summer for 2.00! Yay for cheap, comfy clothes!

10 months old!

Ruby and Mable, you are 10 months old. On tomorrow you will be 11 :)

You both have grown up over night! You look like such big girls. You are crawling all over the place. We have to keep doors shut, and baby gates up to make sure you do not get into anything that could hurt you. You both are doing great with eating. I have started giving you more food, and food that you can pick up and eat yourself. You are pulling up on everything and getting into to everything. :) You keep us very busy, but would have it no other way. You are very social and love going places. You travel very well and do not mind being in your carseat. We still have you in your infant seat, because you have never complained about being in it. We will soon switch you to a big girl seat when you turn one. We are looking forward to the holidays and your Birthday Party. I can't wait to see your excitement when you open gifts.

Happy 10 months baby girls!

Mable, you are busy! You are the fastest crawler I have ever seen! You are so ready to walk. I have a feeling by your birthday you will be walking. You have started trying to stand. I am sure it will not be long before you are running. You are such a great eater now. You had us worried for so long, but you just like to do everything in your own time, and your own way. You finally said, Mama! Still your favorite word is, daddy and uh oh! You mock everything we say. You will even growl like a tiger if we do it first.

Mable, we love you to pieces!

Ruby, you are a funny little girl! You always have a smile on your face. You have crawling down to an art now. You go so fast! You love to sing. You are always humming. Now that you are crawling, you like to explore every corner of the house. You love books and get so excited when we read to you. When you wake up in the morning I put you in your sisters bed and hand you both books. You sit there happily and "read" them until I came back with bottles. You will mouth the word Mama, but don't say it yet. You say all kinds of things, not sure that most of them are words. Sometimes it sounds like you are saying full sentences.

Ruby, we love you so much!
