Ear Infections

Wednesday of this week I got a text from the girls school saying they did not feel well. I immediately went and picked them up. On the way I called to get a Dr. Appt scheduled. We were not able to get in until the next day, since they do not allow walkins. Of course Daddy was out of town, but we managed. The next day it was determined the girls had their first ear infections. Ruby in both ears and Mable in just one. They also had a cold. I figured this would happen with starting a new school. Babies are doing much better now and Daddy is back home! - Posted using BlogPress from my iPhone

Big Girl Carseats

Now that the girls are 1 year old we decided it was time to get a "big girl" carseat. They were still in their infant carseat until today. They never complained, so we kept them in them. They also never acceded the weight limit. I researched and decided on the Graco 65. They go all the way up to 65 pounds and have cup holders, something I really wanted them to have. I also found a great sale on them! Always a plus when you are buying 2! They arrived on separate days, hence the different outfits in the pictures. Ruby got fitted for hers first. She did not want to get out of it! She kept climbing back in the seat!

Both girls checked them out and made sure they were safe. :)

The next day Mable's carseat came in. She was really excited to be titled as a "big girl". Biggest little girl I know!

A Party Weekend

A couple weeks ago we traveled to Shreveport. I had a training with a bank on Friday, and on Saturday we had a twin birthday party and Nanny's birthday party at the nursing home. Here are some pictures The girls had a great time at the Gymboree party for Maisey and Gardner.

Some of us twin Mom's.

After the first party of the day we headed to Vivian for Nanny's party. I love this picture! All of our hands. Ruby's is on the left and Mable's on the right.

Nanny had some funny stuff to say!

She kept us laughing! She loved her cake!

And the girls Gerber Graduate Cookies! :) I gave the babies a cookie to keep them happy. Nanny put her hand out for one

And then feed it to Mable

And Mable feed hers to Nanny. :)

First Day!

Today the girls started their first day of "school", here in The Woodlands. They will be going MWF 8:30 to 2:30. Their teachers, Mrs. Jodi and Mrs. Melissa are so sweet! When I dropped them off Ruby cried. It broke my heart! They never cry! It makes me sad now to think about it. I was a mess when I was leaving. The director was so sweet and the pastor of the church cheered me up and made me laugh. Not long after I received pictures from the teachers and a text from the director telling me everyone was happy and laughing. It made me feel better knowing they are in good hands. When I picked them up, early of course, a lot of the staff came up and talked to me and the babies. I think we are really going to like the school and I know the girls are too! They were busy playing when I got there and took forever to crawl over to me because they were content playing with their new friends. Here are the pictures I got today from school.

1 second!

I walk out of the room for 1 second, and I return to find them in the guest bath making a mess!

The Bathroom door was closed, so I have no idea how this happened! There is now a safety lock on the cabinet. Silly babies! - Posted using BlogPress from my iPhone

1 Year Old Checkup

Today the girls had their 1 year old checkup. It was our first time meeting with our new pediatrician. She said the girls are doing great and meeting all their milestones. Both babies got 3 shots each. They only cried for a short about of time. I was really proud of my big girls! The Dr. did keep saying the word Toddler. I was thrown off by it. I mean, my babies are only 12 mos! I need to look up the definition of toddler. Here they are with their bandaids on their legs. :(

Ruby weighed in at 18 pounds 8 ounces! She is 31 inches, making her in 93% for height! Everyone always tells us she is tall, but I never thought anything of it. Mable weighed in at 16 pounds 11 ounces! She is 28.8 inches in height. In the last 3 weeks she has gained close to a pound! After the Dr. we had lunch at Spring Creek BBQ. This is where Eric worked in high school. He was very excited to take us there!

After their afternoon nap and Eric got home from work, we went to the park by our house. The weather was awesome today! We really love it here! There are parks and ponds everywhere!

After playing, we feed the girls, bathed them and put our tired babies to bed.

Even though there were shots involved in our day, I think it turned out to be a good day! Posted using BlogPress from my iPhone

1st Birthday Party!

We celebrated the girls Bday Party on the 17th of December, before we left Shreveport. I really thought I already posted about their party, but I looked back recently and noticed I had not. Oops! The party theme was Winter Onederland! Everything was done in snowflakes. We invited family and close friends. Honestly, it was exhausting, but well worth all the work! The girls had a great time! They loved opening gifts and getting to see all their family. Here are some pictures from party day! The morning of the party Mable noticed her gifts.

The dessert table

The main food table

I put some pictures out and our blog book from my pregnancy.

Getting some pre party pictures in front of their rockers from Nana and Pop.

Happy Day!

Our friend, Stowie. Look at Mae's face! Ha!

Opening gifts! Mable needed a drink!

Checking out the dancing Mickey from Uncle Gabe.

Trying out your new ponies from Grammy and Papa.

Cake time!

Ruby was excited!

And really liked the cake!

Mable was very careful not to get dirty.

They loved their cozy coupes from Aunt Jen and Uncle Shawn! We took them for a ride later in the day.

And thought they were big girls sitting at their picnic table from pappaw!

I got all their party paper goods from 62cards.com . I loved these cupcake toppers! The picture in the middle is one of my favorites! It's from right after they were born.
