A couple things..

I have been writing this post for at least a week. I get busy and have to come back to it. Imagine that! :)

* On last week, Monday we were off for Presidents day. We had a great day doing nothing then Ruby got sick. Through the night her fever got up to 103.8. We were able to get it down and took her to the Doctor early the next morning. She had an ear infection, sore throat and some spots on her throat. They gave her some meds and she is much better.
We took Mable with us because she woke up wheezing. They tested her for RSV and it came back negative. Thank gosh! She was given a breathing treatment at the office which she pretty much screamed through. I told the nurses, she may only be 17.7 pounds, but this girl is strong and Strong willed! ha! I guess she proved to them I was correct. :) Because the breathing treatment worked, not sure how because she was all over the place, we did not have to take a machine home with us. Mable was given an inhaler and has done great with it. I first used it and should her how fun it was. She was then all about it. We only had to use the inhaler if she would wheezy. We now are done using it, but if she coughs and it sounds bad I break it out. Babies are well now. Hopefully they stay that way!

* Mable had 3 teeth coming in! Poor baby! They hurt so she bites. She bit sister yesterday. I need to look up what to do about this. I say no bite and then she cries because it hurts her feelings. I'm not sure she understands what I'm saying. I have been using baby orgel, Tylenol when needed and teething tablets. Teething tablets seem to work the best.

* The girls school has an opening for 5 days a week, 8:30 - 2:30. They now go everyday, but since starting the new schedule have not been 5 days in a row yet. I normally pick them up at least 30 mins early. Once they get home they nap. I was getting so behind with work that I would have to work once they went to bed. It broke my heart to do this, but I felt like because there was an opening, which never happens, it was a sign. I can always take them down to 3 days again. We will just see how they do. The teachers thought it would be better for them, since they have 2 different schedules, here and there. I plan on this weekend keeping them on their feeding and nap schedule from school. It's a little different, but I think it would be best for them.

* The house is coming along nicely. It's completely painted now. At first I had just the rooms, kitchen and dinning painted. I was tired of having people in my house so scheduled them to come at a later date. They came back a couple weeks ago and fished the living, hallways and game room. The only room not done it the girls down stairs playroom. It's not bad. It's a light green stripe wallpaper. I'm sure we will get to it this summer.
The next thing to do is have the fireplace re tiled. It's hunter green right now. I thought I found the tile I wanted, when I went to price it I saw some others I liked. Now I have no idea which way to go, glass or stone?
After that we will more on the the flower beds outside. This is my favorite part! I love picking out flowers and having a pretty yard. Eric joked that we had the greenest yard in Shreve Island and we will here too! He put out fertilizer on yesterday. I think him and the neighbor and going to have a competition. If we do something, they do something. Whatever! I'll all about it!

* We have lived here about 2 months now and I still have not ventured out to Houston. I have everything I need her in The Woodlands, expect maybe Ikea and A Tory Burch Outlet. I plan to visit those two soon.

*I have protected the art of walking up and down stairs caring 2 babies on my hips.

* Mable is walking about 95% of the time now. Ruby is taking her time.

* Life is good! God is good! I feel extremely blessed!

Hula Girls!

A friend of ours loaned us this cute hula outfit back before the girls were born. I came across it today and decided to have a photo shoot before bed. Maybe not the best time to take pictures. They may be a little blurry, but still oh so cute!

Phone Pics!

Mable feel asleep on our walk, but smiled when I took a picture.

Exhibit A.

Exhibit B.

The reasons I had to put a baby gate on my office door. If the girls are home, I'm normally not in there, but if I am I am now able to send a email without picking up a mess. I'm sure they were just helping. :)

This is how Mable gives kisses, with her tongue sticking out! Haha!

I love this picture of Rue! She looks like such a big girl!

The other day I was able to meet Eric for a quick lunch! Cutie!

Mable at Tommy Bahamas

Ruby loved the oranges from their tea.

Strolling around Market Street

Ruby was really excited about her crayons!

Mable at Crabby Daddy's. I know it seems like we go out to eat a lot, but Grammy and Papa were in town this weekend that's why.

Someone made a mess!

On Sunday we had friends over for dinner. One of them has a baby, so we got out the bouncer. The next day before putting it up the girls sat in it and thought it was fun. So I got out the other one and they have been drinking their bottles in them. Ha! Who would have thought? And yes, they are still drinking out of a bottle. Whatever!

First PB&J! Ruby loved it!

Mable did too!

Off on a walk!

I had to make cookies for a bake sale this weekend. I had enough left over I made these little goodie bags for the girls teachers and directors of their school. The name tags were a bday gift from some twin friends of ours. I think I might use the idea for gifts as well.
The cookies are Andes Mint Cookies. The recipe is so easy! It's on pintrest.

Can you tell we have been busy?

Brushing Teeth

We started brushing the girls teeth tonight. I'm sure we were suppose to start this a long time ago, but I quit reading the "What to expect when raising a Baby" book many months back. It stressed me out! Who meets those milestones anyways?

The girls were not sure about the brushing at first. They did seem to like the berry flavored toothpaste!
Daddy brushed Ruby's

And Mommy brushed Mable's.

After we finished we let them brush their own teeth. (look at Rue's hair in the back!)

They liked this way better!

Another thing to add to our nightly routine. :)

Back to Dr.

Today we took Mae back to the doctor to have her ears looked at again. She still has an infection in one if them. We are now on new meds. Praying this will work! Poor baby!

Happy Valentines!

This was Mable and Ruby one year ago today on Valentines Day. So sweet and still!

These are the pictures I tired to get with all their Vday loot. Still sweet, just not so still.

They crack me up! The girls loved all their goodies! Ruby laid in the floor and "read" her cards.

Mable got in on the action too!

Daddy surprised us with flowers, balloons and a stuffed animals for the girls. He's so good to us!

Tonight we are celebrating at home with Spaghetti Bolognese.

Happy Valentines my favorite little girls!

Mardi Gras 2012

We went to Shreveport for Mardi Gras this weekend. As always, it was a blast!
On Thursday, when we got in, we meet family at Jan's for dinner. It was so good!
Gabe and Ruby Claire

Friday I went and visited with clients and passed out Kingcakes. I was also able to have lunch with some friends, before meeting our photographer for the girls One year old pictures. That night I went to dinner with some of the Mom's of multiples. It was nice to see everyone! I miss those girls! Eric went with his cousin Trevor, Makayla and some friends for burgers.
The next day we said goodbye to the girls and headed to the parade. We tried to get a picture like we did last year with our sweet babies, but they were not into picture taking.

Mom got this picture of us saying goodbye. :)

It was cold out, but we stayed bundled up and inside a lot at Bevin's. It was bittersweet because this was the first year that we did not live by the parade.

The parade went backwards this year. I really liked it that way!

I had a lot of fun helping Stowie catch beads. She got so many stuffed animals!
That night we stayed at Joey and Megan's. The next morning I planned on sleeping late since the girls stayed with Nana and Pop. Of course I woke up at 7:15! This happens every time!

We heading back to Mom's and were able to be there when the girls woke up from their morning nap. I missed them so much! Next year we plan on taking the girls to the parade. I know they will love it!
Before we headed back home the girls opened their Valentines gifts. They love some tissue paper!

Happy Mardi Gras, Friends!

Back to the Dr.

I took Mable back to the Doctor today. She has not been acting like her happy self the last couple days. She had finished all of her Amoxicillin she was given for her cold and ear infection. Today the Dr. noticed her ear infection had not cleared up all the way, and she had a little bit of a sore throat. Poor baby! I'm glad I took her in! I took Ruby with me too. She checked her out just to make sure she was on the mend. Ruby's ears are better. Mable left with a new prescription, something stronger. Hopefully this is all the ear infections we have for a while!
This was the girls picking up the prescription at Kroger. They liked the double car cart.

My lunch partners!

Sunday Brunch

There is a Mexican restaurant is our neighborhood. The girls will eat a whole tortilla themselves there! They love them!

Mable's new smile

We go to the park almost everyday

The girls love to be outside!

Trying to get a picture in their overalls. One would smile and the other not. They went back and forth doing this.

Bath time!

The girls run laps in the tub now.

Just some of the million pictures I take a day. :)
