Wednesday through Sunday of last week we vacationed in Galveston. It was the first of many Martin Fest. Galveston is very close to us, so I'm sure we will be going a good bit this year.
Our first day there we got settled in and went to dinner on sea wall. The girls seemed to like the ocean breeze.

Even though it was Galveston, this was the girls first trip to the beach.

Early the next morning the boys and I headed out fishing. I was not going to miss this! I grew up fishing, and could not wait to catch the biggest fish. I told all the boys that I would out fish them and guess who did! :) I caught the biggest fish, a redfish!

I was pretty proud, and I think they were proud of me too!

Eric and I can't wait to go back fishing!
That night we cooked up the fish for dinner and the girls played in the pool at the house.

Friday morning, when the girls woke up, we went down to the beach.

We let them walk around a bit to see what it was all about.

Mable seemed to like it a bit more than Ruby.

They both touched the sand and then looked at us like, please clean my hand! :)

For breakfast we went to IHOP with Jen and Grammy.
After naps the whole family went down to the beach.
Mable rocked the beach! She loved everything about it!

She really loved when the waves splashed on her feet! She would say, wow, wow, wow!

Her and Papa walked up and down the beach.

Ruby's favorite spot on the beach was next to her wagon. She played in this same spot the whole time we were there. She would get on and off the tongue of the wagon. She thought she was such a big girl!
We did take her down to the water, but wanted nothing to do with it.

Eric took his turn at Skim Boarding. That's him in the yellow shorts!

The girls were ready for naps after all the playing they did.

The last day we went down to the Strand for shopping and lunch. We had lunch at The Fisherman's Wharf. Ruby was so funny! She got a hold of Jen's phone and talked on it the whole lunch. She's so serious!

My girls at The Wharf! We feed the birds and then headed back home.

That night we had a shrimp boil and a Bean Bag tournament. Our team did not win, but it was still a lot of fun!
On Sunday we packed up and headed home. Because there was no traffic, we made it home in an hour! We were all so tired! Everyone napped for a couple hours!
We are already looking forward to our next Galveston trip!
