2 Year Old Stats
We took the girls in for their 2 year old check up back on the 20th of February. They are going great and growing perfectly!
She told us to switch them from whole organic milk to 2% organic milk and to back off the pedisure for Mable, which we have been doing on our own. She now has not had pedisure in weeks and is eating so much more, they both are! I think the 2% milk has really allowed for a bigger appetite.
Here are your stats girls...
Mable, you are 33.75 in. You weigh 21 pounds.
Ruby, you are 35.75 in. You weigh 24 pounds 9 oz.
You both are growing up so fast! Your face seems to look less like a baby everyday. You say new things everyday. You are forming sentences with new words daily. You can both count to 10 when you want to. You can sing your ABC's, but get them mixed up in certain parts. You both love to sing and dance. You love Mexican food and eat so good when we go to a Mexican restaurant. You love to be outside and like when we go for family bike rides and pull you in the bike trailer. You are into everything! So much so that I have taken your play chairs and put them up because you where pushing them up to cabinets and shelfs to help yourself to whatever you want. We have started the basics of potty training. We are not trying to push it and know it will happen one day. You sit on the potty at bath time and anytime you ask. We keep pottys down stairs and upstairs. Mable you are more into than your sister, but not ready to take the time to sit down when you have to go. You both are very attached to your "bankin" (blanket) and get upset when it's time to wash it. I try to do so when you are at school. Mable, you like to take your diaper off at nap and bedtime so we have to tape your diaper so we are not constantly washing sheets. Ruby, you love bow bows. You point out every bow bow you have daily and even the ones you had months ago. If we are getting on to you for something you try to change the subject with saying, "bow bow back"! Even though you got that months ago at the park and it is heeled. You also say, "hey mommy, hey mommy or daddy" when we get trying to teach you a lesson. You have learned quickly to distract. Mable, you are the the more active one. You are always up for a challenge and will go 90 to nothing. Ruby, you are still the more laid back one, but sometimes surprise us with jumping up and being the first to do something.
You both love airplanes "airbus", school buses, firetrucks, trash trucks and the moon "moonia". You girls still love shoes! You will change shoes a couple times a day if we are home all day. You love bows in your hair! If you do not have a bow in your hair you ask for one, which I love! You know what a princess is and if you see something girly point to it and say princess.
You both have started this new thing where we can have 2 of the same items. Same size, same color, ect. One of you will say, "no that's "duby's" (that's what mae calls rue) or Ruby will say, "no, that's Mable's. So I just switch them out and we move on. Mind you, these are 2 of the same things!
Before the girls were born I bought them colored bands to go on their milk bottles/cups so we would know whos is whos. Mable has purple and Ruby has pink. They both have their name on them. We have noticed now that anything that is pink is now Mables, she is more drawn to it and Ruby is fine with it. If we have 2 different color cups, one with pink on it and the other with purple or another color Mable will take the pink. If we try to give her the not pink one she says, no that's duby's and Ruby will do the same and say, no, that's Sissy's.
Your hair is growing and I am finally able to do a small pony tail on top of your head. It doesn't look all that great, but it's a pony tail and you are proud of it!
I know I already said this, but you are growing up so fast! I'm sure since we went to the Doctor 3 weeks ago you have already grown an inch each and up a pound.
Mommy and Daddy could not be more proud to call you ours! We love you more than you could ever imagine! One day when you are a parent, you will know the love I speak of. The love that can make your heart explode and tears come to your eyes at just the thought of your sweet face.
You are loved, you are loved, you are loved!

Baby Vicks!
2 days later and we finally have removed all the Vicks from the girls hair!
Just because you hear sweet giggling in the next room, does not mean they are playing sweet and innocently!
This is what I walked in to find Thursday afternoon. An afternoon where Eric was working late and I had somewhere to be soon after he got home.
At first I did like any Mom, I laughed and thought, how cute! Took pictures to document and changed up our routine a bit. I went ahead and gave baths before dinner, washed their hair with their no tears shampoo and let me play in the water a little bit longer than normal all the while splashing around and making my clothes soaking wet!

Once out of the tub I realized that their hair was still caked with Vicks! I could not even get a comb through it!
I decided to wash their hair with Dawn soap, since that's what they use to clean the pelicans after an oil spill, right?! Well, after baptizing the girls in the kitchen sink with the spray hose and rubbing their hair down with dish washing liquid they still had a head full of grease. At this point I was done! Eric got home and we decided we would deal with it in the morning.
The next morning I did a second round of Dawn and sent them to school with a little less greasy hair. That evening a friend told me about using clarifying shampoo and baking soda. We tried it and it worked!!! The baking soda did the trick! Thankfully they looked like sweet, non greasy children the next day for Easter pictures!
