The Girls Room!

We finally finished the girls room!
This room use to be a guest room. Throughout the years a couple of my girlfriends have lived in this room. Before we got pregnant this was the room that I used to get ready in, put my make up and do my hair. Man, have things changed! :)

We had the hardest time finding our cribs. We wanted Jenny Lind Non drop side cribs. I guess a lot of other people did too.
One Saturday I woke up from a nap, walked into the kitchen and noticed my mother in laws purse. I rounded the corner and saw my MIL and FIL. I had no idea they were coming over. They had found one cribs in Tyler and the other in Longveiw. They came over to surprise me with their find. I was so excited!
While I was napping Eric and some of friends put both cribs together. Thank goodness they were at the house!
Eric told me he had something to show me and I walked into the room. I was very surprised!
As you can see the room was painted brown. Painting the room was one of the things we wanted to do in the room.

We had the room painted mystic beige and the ceiling painted ribbon pink. The book shelves were already in the room. The dresser is one we already had. We just painted it white and changed out the hardware with crystal pulls. The lamps were some I picked up at a resale shop. I just changed out the trim. All of the items on the shelves were gifts from friends and family. On the bottom shelves they have a collections of books. The pictures frames on the dresser were gifts. One says, you were loved before we even knew of you. So sweet! The other one has a rocking horse on it and says, Keep calm and Rock on! ha! I'm sure I will have to tell myself that daily!
Our Chandelier was a gift from an Aunt, as well as the rug. Both items help make the room!
The Rug is actually gold, but does not photograph that way.

Ruby's side of the room.
The bunny paintings were painted from my very talented friend Casey.
I love it!
The rocker was Eric's parents. We painted it and had it recovered. It's so comfy!!
The curtains came from Milling Around.
The color worked perfectly and they did not cost a fortune.

Mable's side of the room.
We plan on putting the girls in the same crib for the first 3 months. All twin parents tell us this helps calm the babies, being with their twin.

Mable's crib with her bedding.
Each baby has their monogram in Gold.
The bumper is made of cotton with satin ruffles and bow ties.
The dust ruffle is make with dupani silk.
I love this bedding! It's nicer than ours!

Ruby's is the same, but with her monogram.
We already love their sleep sheep!
Eric jokes that the whale sound is for when the babies are missing their Daddy and the Heartbeat sound is for when they are missing their Mommy.

The blank wall below is where we will put the newborn pics we are having taken.
I thought about buying frames and hanging them, but then realized I have no idea what size they will be or how the picture will be positioned.
The toy box is something that just came in. Believe it or not but we are running out of room in the dresser. The toy box is being used to store blankets and extra linens.

The two pictures above the closet are Holly Hobby prints that I had in my room when I was little. I am so glad that they could be reused in my girls room.
As you can tell we have been stocking up on diapers. I'm sure we will go through these pretty fast.

Hope you enjoyed the little tour!
Stop by to visit anytime!
We are always here!

33 week appointment

One of the positives from today's appointment was that we got to go home!
I had a feeling that I should pack my bag, just in case we were sent over to the hospital.
Thank goodness Eric did not have to run home and pick it up!
Our appointment went pretty good. My cervix stayed around the same, 1.4. I was pretty happy with this, since there was a good chance that we could have gone in today and I would have no cervix. Just an Fyi, I did read that you can have 0 cervix and not go into labor.
We are now to see each Doctor once a week. I see Jones on Monday's and Popwell on Thursday's. At these appointments they will do stress test on the girls to make sure everything is looking good and to make sure I am not having any or too many contractions.
We did a test today and both babies looked great! The last 15 mins. I started having contractions. I could tell they were happening and see them show up on the reading. We were not sure what Dr. Jones was going to say. When he first came back in the room I thought he was about to tell us he was sending us to the hospital, but then we realized that it had been 4 plus hours since my last Trebutaline (meds for contractions). Once I took the pill, soon after the contractions went away. I also think it had something to do with the way I was laying.
So now we wait and hopefully wait until at least the first of the year. Dr. Jones told us today, every day that we keep them in my belly is 2 days less they will have to stay in the nici.
Please keep us in your prayers!
In the next couple days I plan on uploading pictures of the nursery.

Belly is getting BIG!

32 week appt.

Today we had our weekly appointment.
This week we saw Dr. Popwell.
We always get an ultrasound now, to check my cervix. I did go down to 1.37. The only thing we can do for this is to keep up with the bed rest and taking it easy. I asked him if it would just come down to me having no cervix. He said that it all depends. He said that it could always go back up. We have seen this happen before, so who knows. I'm just taking it easy like I'm suppose to and letting people take care of me. Let me go ahead and say, I have the best Mom ever!!!
She has cooked, cleaned, rearranged and planted! She gets the Mom of the year award!
Also, we have an amazing family that has brought us food, to make sure we do not go hungry and the girls get plenty of calories! We are so grateful!

Ok, back to my appointment...
We got weights on the girls, even though we just got them last week. They normally do not do this, but Eric and I had a plan to be mute when the tech asked us what all they did at the specialist appt. :) They normally only give weights every 2 weeks.
The girls are growing great! It seems as though everything I am eating is going to them... and trust me, that's a lot!!
Ruby, baby A weighs 4 pounds 3 ounces and Mable, baby B weighs 3 pounds 13 ounces!!!
Our little Mable gained an ounce more than her sister! Look at her catching up!
The tech looked to see if the girls had any hair. Ruby had a good bit of hair, on the back of her head :) and Mable had a little bit. Eric joked and asked if she could tell what color it was, since in our family it could be any color!

We can't wait to meet these babies!! We are hoping to make it to the first of the year. Who knows, after all that has happened we could go to 38 weeks! :)

Girls are growing!!

Today we meet with our specialist.
Everything is going pretty good! The girls are growing great!
Ruby (a) weighs 3 pounds 9 ounces and Mable (b) weighs 3 pounds 2 ounces!!!
We were ecstatic when we found out how much they have grown!
All these extra calories are defiantly working in their favor.
I did go down to a 1.8, but Dr. Jones felt it was ok, since I am not having any contractions.
We did a FFT and it came back negative (this is the test that shows a possibility of me going into labor in the next 2 weeks). He did say that in the next week or two the Terbutaline, that I take for contractions will stop working, my body will become immune to it. At that time IF I start having contractions he will put me in the hospital for 72 hours and give me magnesium. I have heard this stuff is pretty terrible and makes you very sick, but does help stop labor. He also said that at that time IF I dilated to 4 he would go ahead and deliver the babies, but prior to delivering he would give me another steroid shot to help with the girls lungs. He thinks that they would be fine, but small. Again, these are all IF's.
We talked about a date, Jan. 3, but of course did not schedule anything. We will just see how I'm doing at that point, if I can go longer then we will.
I am still on modify bed rest, which is really like house arrest, but he did give me permission to go to dinner tomorrow night to celebrate Eric's 30th Bday! So exciting! Getting out of the house! :)

Bed rest is still going pretty good, since I work from home I just sit in bed or on the couch with my laptop. I actually think I am getting more done by staying in one spot all day verses moving about. Being busy with work makes the day go by faster.
At night time we normally eat dinner, watch a movie or one of our TV shows. Not sure what we will do when we have watched everything on Netflick's and our shows are done for the season?

Everyday is a day closer to meeting Ruby and Mable! We are looking forward to the day of meeting their sweet faces! Until then we will Sit and wait :)
